Allegra Goodman
Guest bio (75-word limit): Allegra Goodman is the author of six acclaimed novels, including Intuition, The Cookbook Collector, and Kaaterskill Falls (a National Book Award finalist). She has written two collections of short stories, The Family Markowitz and Total Immersion, and a novel for younger readers, The Other Side of the Island. Raised in Honolulu, Goodman studied English and philosophy at Harvard and received a PhD in English literature from Stanford. She lives with her family in Cambridge, Massachusetts, where she is currently working on a new novel.

Abraham Socher is the founding editor of the Jewish Review of Books. He is the author of The Radical Enlightenment of Solomon Maimon: Judaism, Philosophy, Heresy (Stanford University Press) and coeditor, with Yitzhak Melamed and Paul Reitter, of The Autobiography of Solomon Maimon: The Complete Translation (Princeton University Press). Abe has published essays and reviews on topics in Jewish intellectual history, literary criticism, and baseball. He is a professor emeritus at Oberlin College.
